Music Ministries

At Monticello UMC, we take humble pride in the quality of our music program.  From our Sanctuary Choir and Hand Bell Choirs to our in-house vocal quartet, “Those Guys” and Praise Team, we offer a wide variety of musical experiences in our worship services.

Vocal Choirs

The Sanctuary Choir, led by our music director, Kathy Brown, is one of the premier church choirs in the area, providing historic and contemporary pieces from Handel’s “Messiah” to “Days of Elijah.”  They provide an anthem for our 8:30 Traditional Service the first, second, third, and fifth Sundays of the month, and sing a special music piece for the 11:00 Contemporary Service the first Sunday of the month.
What can we say about the gospel quartet, Those Guys?  Those Guys bless our worship services with great gospel pieces from deep, meaningful songs like “I Love You, Lord”, to the comic crowd pleaser, “Heaven’s Joy Awaits”.
Those Guys join a quartet of ladies to create our Chancel Ensemble, which provides special music occasionally throughout the year.

Handbell Choir

The art of handbell ringing dates back to the 17th century, but is quickly becoming a lost art.  However, we at Monticello UMC pride ourselves in the talent and devotion of our handbell choirs, led by Barb Ozier.  Our Adult Handbell Choir provides a wide variety of styles of music, from classical to contemporary pieces.

New Day

Our praise and worship band that provides music for our 10:45 Contemporary Worship Service every week.  From the latest songs to hit Christian radio to our renditions of the foundational hymns of the faith, the Praise Team enjoys leading worship with songs from many styles… but we mostly like to rock!
