Who We Are...
Monticello United Methodist Church is an historic church with modern vision! Begun by some of the first Methodist circuit riders in the 1800s, the congregation has grown and adapted with the changing times over its 175 year existence, never losing site of its one mission: to make disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world. We believe we fulfill this call when we offer his love to everyone through worship, prayer, study, mission, and fellowship.
Worship
We offer something for everyone:
Traditional Worship, with an amazing Sanctuary Choir and Bell choirs, traditional hymns, relevant sermons, and a friendly atmosphere.
Contemporary Worship, with a rockin’ praise band, playing the songs you hear on the radio, plus a few modern renditions of some classics.
Both services are “come as you are.” There are no expectations and no dress code. You will be warmly welcomed whether you wear jeans and a t-shirt or a 3-piece suit… whether you are a life-long believer or just checking out Church for the first time… whether you are full of faith or full of doubt. We welcome you!

Mission
MUMC prides itself on being a missional church, serving ministries locally, regionally, and globally. We support ministries all around the globe from Wycliffe Bible Translators in Africa to God’s Littlest Angels in Haiti to Casas por Cristo in Mexico to the Methodist Church of Trebon in the Czech Republic. We support regional mission sites like The United Methodist Midwest Mission Distribution Center, Baby Fold, and Cunningham Children’s Home. Within our own community, we serve the Piatt County Ecumenical Food Pantry and Community Assistance ministry, Faith in Action ministry, and Willow Tree, among others. If you have a desire to serve, MUMC is your church!
Fellowship
We are a family as children of God… and families spend time together. Join us for cookies and coffee (or juice) every Sunday, at 9:30 a.m. for a time of fellowship in the church’s dining hall between worship services. We also have big events periodically throughout the year, such as cookouts, pizza parties, concerts, and field trips. Check our calendar for upcoming fellowship events!
